Thrilling Math
This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning a new way to help us with our maths. We got into groups of four and we were given sixteen cards and we had to share out the cards evenly amongst ourselves. These are the rules we had to follow no talking, no non- verbal signals and no taking anyone else’s cards. On the cards that we had were numbers, dots, tiles, words and shapes. For an example if you have a triangle, a piece of paper with three dots, the number three and a piece of paper with three tiles shaded in you will have a match and you are done.We were learning to identify different patterns and work together to help solve each others problems. I really enjoyed doing this maths because it is a lot of fun but the thing I didn’t enjoy was that it was really hard because we couldn’t talk to each other or communicate. Have you learnt any new maths this term?
