Paper Rockets

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about the scientific method. We first watched a video of how to make paper rockets. Our teachers found some worksheets for us to fill out. We also have been learning about the meaning of a hypothesis. If you don't know what a hypothesis is it is something that you guess from research. My buddy and I found out that the reason a rocket has fins is to do with stability. The fins help the rocket keep pointing in the same direction that it was launched . Once were finished we got to make the paper rocket off the video. We each got ten blows we collect data on a spreadsheet.

Cross country training

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to pace ourselves in running. We have been running around the school to get fit for our school cross country day. Last week we ran 2 laps but this week we will be running 3 laps. Each time we run we get timed. The first time we ran I took 7 minutes and 9 seconds. Now my time is down to 6 minutes and 13 seconds. Before and after we run we always stretch. To keep track of how long we took we write it down in our books. Once it has been a whole week we put all of our times on a spreadsheet and turn it into a chart. The chart shows us If we have gone faster or slower.
